That matters more than it sounds. A decorator based twenty miles away prices the travel into the job whether he says so or not, and turns up when the schedule allows rather than when it suits you. Being local means a morning call about a snag gets answered the same day.
The housing here
The housing here is mixed and each type asks something different. The Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the seafront have lath and plaster that needs handling rather than filling. The post-war estates around Woodburn and Sunnylands are solid, straightforward work where the finish is decided by preparation. The newer developments toward Eden and Greenisland are usually contractor-finished — thin paint over new plaster that drinks the first coat.
We also cover Whitehead, Greenisland, Eden, Ballycarry and out toward Larne. If you are further along the coast, ask — the answer is usually yes.
